William Dowell Bassist/Vocalist: I’m from Bristol, VA. I started playing music at 13, playing the saxophone, in the high school marching band. Soon after that, I picked up the bass and started listening to as much music as I could. Rock, Country, Soul, RnB, Blues…there was no genre I didn’t want to learn. I would listen to bassists like Jack Bruce, Bill Wyman, James Jamerson for hours trying to copy what they did.

After high school, I played with a few bands in the area including the Delta Playboys. Soon I decided to continue my education by going to the Atlanta Institute of Music. I learned a lot about theory, different styles of music, and the music industry. I gratuated in September with honors. I’m real excited to be back in the area, playing with the Delta Playboys, and making a name for myself in the Tri-Cities.
